Wouldn't you think that Israeli authorities would take action in cases of religious persecution?

http://www.religionnewsblog.com/24006/je…

A Christian of Jewish origin who has been attacked on the streets here four times because of his faith in Christ is seeking police protection.Wouldn't you think that Israeli authorities would take action in cases of religious persecution?
Logic would say yes, however a look at the history of that region and the Zionists clarify the situation.Wouldn't you think that Israeli authorities would take action in cases of religious persecution?
Ah, so your focus on the tiny # of incidents posted on israel %26amp; ignoring the many pages on countries around her... wasn't accidental. You're a Christian antisemite. Congratulations. 2000 years %26amp; you're still living in antiquities.

Agreement with Cher, they're probably upset that Jews aren't converting in droves for them.

I agree with the two above me. I hate being right, sometimes.

Anyway, your ';good site'; is an antisemitic hate site, and recognized as such by many organizations...which means that your BA has broken terms of service. Be a shame if someone gave you a violation in best answer :(.

I wonder how on earth Yahoo can justify leaving this ';best answer'; up in clear and flagrant violation of their Terms of Service?

'; the assailants appeared to be teenaged or young men of French origin';

This is code, in Israel, for ';Arab Muslim';.

As far as the Christian who was attacked, if he was proselytizing then he should have been arrested and stopped in the first place from doing so. Israel is not a Christian country, and the Jews have fought long and hard to have their own land back. The Jews dont need anyone in there trying to kill their souls with any other religion.

The person who attacked him however, should be brought up on charges. The thing is, the Israeli government is secular, hates religious Jews, and is very very accomodating to bend over backwards for Muslims over Jews every single time. So if it was a Muslim who attacked him, dont count on him getting arrested. Because then the Muslims will threaten to riot, and the Israeli government will cave, as usual.
Like others have said here...all that I can really tell so far from reading that article is:

1. That the Messianic Christian was in violation of Israeli laws. The state of Israel outlaws coordinated proselytism, precisely because it annoys people, and the Israeli authorities don't want to have to respond to attacks whenever missionaries push people over the edge. I am not encouraging attacks on missionaries in any way--but he was not simply a hapless victim in this; your man was not attacked 'because of his faith in Christ'...he was attacked because he was harrassing people. Jews are probably targeted in Israel for being Jews more often than Christians are targeted for being Christians. Messis in Israel are notorious for being rather aggressive and pushy when they proslytize, and it's no wonder that they drive some individuals--even people who are normally very relaxed and even-mannered--off the deep end. In typical Messie manner, I see that he transformed the actual scenario into one where he is the persecuted innocent suffering at the hands of insensitive, deranged Jews. These people tend to have an almost pathological need to feel persecuted 'because they are Christians (rather than simply accept that Jews don't believe that they follow Judaism?), and their cries for attention become quite hysterical and frequently drown out actual cases of Christian persecution. Perhaps we would like Messis more if they didn't LIE so much...

2. I really don't find this guy credible at all...there are gaps in his story (the Israeli police let the guy who punched him off without pressing charges...I'm sensing a blank here that needs to be filled. I have an idea that the blank has info that would make Israeli authorities seem more competant and this Messi seem more like a boob, but that's just me...), he levels the nebulous charge of authorities 'not responding fast enough' to an attack (really, how is this objectively verifiable?), and there are plot holes in some of his ramblings (people at the bus stop were calling the police...but no one attempted to physically intervene in the attack? Strange...). It seems that he really wants to believe that the Israeli authorities are 'out to get him.' My suspicions were cinched at the end of the story, when he tried to politicize the matter, suggesting that the Israeli government is responsible for Teitel's victims and needs to be more supportive of Messis. Really, very low of him.

3. I noticed that Compass Direct News has updates on Christian persecution from all over the world. Some of the lists of stories in nations bordering Israel are pages long...and some of the stuff that happens there is horrific! The section dedicated to Israel is a paltry 5 stories, most of which are Messianic Christian's paranoid attempts to construct 'persecution' that isn't there...including, that worst of all anti-Christian Israeli crimes: the difficulty in finding a non-Arab, Christian cemetary in Israel (gasp)! Tell me, why did you ignore these other countries, and instead chose to pick on Israel? Given some of the bigoted answerers you've gotten, I think I know why...

Cher--thanks! :)
Nothing about his story sounds legit. It sounds like a paranoid schiophrenia making up reality.

In fact the Messanic Christains are known for going into Jewish neighborhoods %26amp; seriously harrassing Jews. Seriously so, so he's like very NOT innocent. (Hey I blocked the man from entering his house why aren't you arresting him for pshing me?) However, if anyone assaulted anyone with pepper spray it would result in immediate arrest. All the article points to is that someone harassing Christians was percecuted. He's claiming not soon enough, not evidence the guy wasn't tracked %26amp; taken seriously to begin with.

It's a blog %26amp; people can post anything they want on the internet.

Prostelyizing is illegal in Israel. These Messanic groups like to claim hate at them -- for not letting them do what's against the law. They come to Israel filled with Jews to convert them, then spread as much negative against Jews as they can. I've seen it in action. It's percular %26amp; not admirable.

Scaredrys

Interesting find. So the site posts pages %26amp; pages of attacks on Christians in countries around Israel, but this asker only focused on a paultry tiny entries for Israel %26amp; those are at prostelyzers %26amp; not the Arab Christian or non-prostylizing Christians.

Bus stop -in Israel people are very proactive to stopping attacks - they're used to doing it. No way people were concerned enough to call police but didn't intervene. That's American, not Israeli behavior - this American guy is making it up.
answer: I'm betting he's continually breaking the very laws he now wants to protect him - there are laws against proselytizing in Israel. Don't break the law, people don't get upset with you. Especially when you lie and claim you're a Jew and trying to push Christianity.

Israel protects the religious rights of others, don't break the law, however.

';Yomtov, who founded social activist group Lemallah (“Upward”) after moving to Israel from the United States in 1999, said he was last attacked on Dec. 19. On that occasion his group was holding a demonstration in downtown Jerusalem...';
That sucks. I hope so.
nope - the guy isn't actually jewish just because he has jewish origins
I wouldn't. We are talking about the same Israel that is building an illegal apartheid wall, right? Israeal where Palestine is supposed to be? The Israel that massacred people in the Gaza strip this time last year, not allowing the wounded to leave, not offering any humanitarian aid or escape even to infants?

You idealize Israel. It's been strangling in the clutches of it's own right wing since the early eighties. The beautiful dream has been dead for decades.
Hey, the Israeli authorities have been persecuting arab christians and muslims with impunity for decades. Why should they stop now?
You cannot expect them to do everything. Cut them some slack, for crying out loud, they've got their hands full trying to kill every Palestinian on the face of the earth.
No, I wouldn't think that as Israel is run by Zionist thugs.
