How is forensic medicine used in rape cases?

Any clue? How is forensic medicine used in rape cases?
When a rape kit is collected semen samples are taken. There is enough material there to do a DNA. There is more than just sperm. If a condom was used there is still material around. The pubic hair is combed to get any foreign ones.Pictures are taken of any bruising. A forensic artist tries to create a picture of the rapist. Any other threads or materials are collected. There have been cases of female rapists, raping both males and females. How is forensic medicine used in rape cases?
a guy rapes a girl. he will most likely inseminate her.

this gives DNA. which forensics can trace to prove a suspect guilty.
If the victim was a female (I've never heard of a female rapist) samples of semen (sperm) would be collected off her body, and use DNA testing to find only half of the criminal's identity since a reproductory cell contains only half the host's genes
Besides taking samples of nail scrapings, fibers, hairs, fluids, i.e semen, blood for DNA and STD analysis, doctors can examine the vaginal area for specific tears, bruising and swelling which can indicate forced intercourse. They also examine for other injuries which indicate a sign of force or struggle such as scratches, bruises, bite marks etc.
