Are there any cases of seals attacking humans?

i just recently took up some night swimming which is the only way for me to get a comfortable nights sleep, and compared to the day there are alot more seals that can be seen at night. I saw a arrested development episode were Busters hand was bitten off by a seal. Are there any shown cases of seal attacks and have you ever been attacked by a seal?Are there any cases of seals attacking humans?
Good point about Buster being attacked by a seal. But you have to remember, that particular seal had been used earlier by G.O.B. for a magic ';illusion,'; so it could have been a little more savage then usual, having been around G.O.B.





i think it depends on the region you are in and what type of seals they are. Elephant seals can be pretty vicious and i guess so can leopard seals (see source). i have never been attacked...but i'm basically landlocked.Are there any cases of seals attacking humans?
Leopard seals are unpredictable and certainly could do some serious damage, but all others will generally leave you alone, unless they are protecting their young on land.
From What I've heard Fur seals, Leopard Seals And Elephant Seals have been known to be very territorial and they have attacked Humans before. A person has actually been killed by a leopard seal.
