First, Catholics don't ';tithe';. Tithing requires a minimum 10% of one's income. The Church only requires a charitable donation of whatever one sees fit, even if it's less than 10%.





Second, only 6% of the Catholic Clergy are in any way involved with the sex scandals. If Catholics refused to support their parishes, MANY parishes - in which the priests are in no way involved in the scandals - will be financially crippled WITHOUT CAUSE.

No. Tithing is to give thanks to God and help the church spread the Word of God around the world. Doing so would be protesting against God, not the Church. There are other ways to solve this matter.
