Silicon has the most shock absorption. (Only if your clumsy and drop it alot)
The clear hard cases or nice if you don't like cleaning your phone alot as they have a clear screen protector that's plastic and not a thin sheet of clear sticky film.
Metal and plastic are nice but most are hard to take off, and leather, to me, as most cases I've seen, look tacky.
Most of all get what's most practical for you and your lifestyle.
