As someone else mentioned, Ann Rule has a bunch %26amp; she's good. Also, Darcy O'Brien ';Two of a Kind'; about the Hillside Strangler case in the 70s is very good, also another one called ';Murder in Little Egypt.'; And 2 classics: ';In Cold Blood'; by Truman Capote and ';Helter Skelter'; by Vincent Bugliosi, the Manson Family prosecutor. What are some books on or about torture. Also on murder cases?
if you are doing research refer to Discipline and Punish by Michel Foucault. His philosophical style is very literary. He traces the history of punishment from its effects on the body (physical torture) to the affects on our minds (discipline) through institutions. this is a very important book and it will definitely open your mind to our present subjective situation as beings in a world ingrained with technology, media and overpopulation. also, he has a very unique and readable style when compared to most philosophical/historical texts.
All of Ann Rule's true crime books are really interesting reading. You should check out 'The Stranger Beside Me' , 'Small Sacrifices', and 'If You Really Loved Me'.
If you're more into fiction, then anything by Edgar Allen Poe should be right up your alley.
I just heard about the Twinkie muder out in Cali.in 1976 i think i was pretty crazy. And he got away with it 5 YEARS, that was it.
