At the moment the catholic church in the US has paid out more than 2 billion USD since 1950 in compensation to victims of their vile sexual abuse.





As long as the followers of this religion continue to fund it, it will keep happening and being covered up.

Unless the Church in Rome needs to pay law suits that's when they'll need to start selling things, you do get that the Vatican is not connected with how money is dealt with in different diocese right?
What these Catholics don't know is that the 10% tithe (must give 10% of their yearly earnings to Church, not including donations made when the basket is passed around) is used to pay off these cases instead of going to memorable charities, the poor and needy, and other things it is *supposed* to be spent on. Why a 10% tithe? Why so much? Ten whole percent of everything you make yearly. I wouldn't doubt if much of the money went to defending these priests, and not to the worthy causes they are thought to go to..this is defintely corruption!

Not sure about law suits but this I know. We elevate humans like they are worthy of respect and honor. That's not only wrong, it comes back to haunt us. You'll always find leaders from all faiths who fall to temptation, do wrong, even 'evil' things. That's because only Jesus is worthy. Organized religion must have leaders, I realize this. But we have to realize that human leaders are no more than just that...human. We must trust God alone and rely solely on His Son, not our Priests, Bishops, Ministers, Pastors, Elders, Deacons, etc. Humans will always let you down. God never will.
